NATURALISATION & PASSPORT APPLICATIONS

If the Client’s application falls under naturalisation, the Client will need to follow additional processes. If the Home Office approves their application, Clients 18 or over will be instructed in writing to attend a ‘ceremony’ to give oath to the Queen. Giving oath types will vary depending on the Client's religious beliefs. This is very straightforward and not an application.

Children aged 0-17 do not have to attend this ceremony but if the child turns 18 during the application, the child will be instructed to attend and the Client requested to pay the ceremony fee.

Children that are accepted for naturalization are issued instantly with their British citizenship certificate, parents will obtain this after attending their ceremony.

Once the Client or family receive their naturalisation certificate, they will need to apply for their first British passport. This is applied online and the Client may have to attend a passport interview. If this is the case, the passport office will inform the Client.

When applying for your first British passport, the Client or family members cannot apply under 'same day' service. If the Client or family members need a passport urgently, they should let G4I know so they can explain how to process the passport under fast track service.
