Priority applications takes on average 6 weeks whereas standard applications can take 12 to 24 weeks to get a visa decision.
Note: Family applications that lead to UK settlement are deemed more complex than most other visa application hence the longer processing time.

When you submit your entry visa through UKVI visa portal, depending on your country of entry, you might have to pay the priority fee as part of your UKVI application fee or, pay when we secure your biometrics appointment via the Home Office commercial partner portal.
Note: If you submit and pay your visa fee under 'Standard' and then decide to upgrade to priority, you should be able to upgrade via the Home Office commercial partner portal but if you already secured your biometrics, you need to cancel your application and submit and pay a new visa application. Refunds are refunded in 30 days for visa and immigration health surcharges.
