Tier 5 Charity Worker

TIER 5 CHARITY WORKER

This visa type is for temporary workers wanting to work in the charity sector

THIS TIER WAS FIRST INTRODUCED TO THE UK IN NOVEMBER 2008

Tier 5 is governed by a UK sponsor, an organisation that is wiling to assign a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) to the charity worker.

The CoS will require the right SOC code and this SOC requires key information such as work dates, confirmation field-work only, not taking a settled worker's permanent or part-time job and other factors depending on the organisation itself.

A charity worker is only permitted to do FIELD-BASE work and no pay is permitted to be paid to the worker, however, expenses are permitted.

The UK sponsor is not required under the immigration rules to advertise the vacancy, but the Home Office may challenge the UK sponsor why they are recruiting from a non-EEA country

This page will cover essential key information about applying to become a charity worker
