TIER 5 GOVERNMENT AUTHORISED EXCHANGE

This visa type is for temporary workers that fall under the Government Authorised Exchange visa scheme

THIS TIER WAS FIRST INTRODUCED TO THE UK IN NOVEMBER 2008


Tier 5 is governed by a UK sponsor, an organisation that is wiling to assign a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) to the worker that is required to work a short time for work experience or to do training, an Overseas Government Language Programme, research or a fellowship through an approved government authorised exchange scheme.

The UK sponsor will need to be running an approved exchange scheme, a higher education institution or a government department or agency.
